Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use the contact form, subscribe to the newsletter, book a call with us, or email us, we receive what you provide: typically your name, email address, company, and your message. If you become a client, we receive the business information your team shares during an engagement.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider, Vercel, records basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the time of your visit. We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate page statistics; it does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors. Newsletter emails include standard open and click tracking, provided by Beehiiv, so we can see which topics readers find useful.

Client information. When a client shares information about its own customers, employees, or business with us during an engagement, we handle it on the client’s instructions as its service provider, under our engagement agreement and our Data Handling, Retention, and Disposal Policy. The client’s own privacy policy governs how that information was collected.

How we use information

We use the information above to respond to your inquiry, to send the newsletter you subscribed to, to schedule and deliver our services, to send invoices and manage the client relationship, to secure and improve the website, and to meet our legal and insurance obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business, our legal obligations, and, for the newsletter, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or for targeted advertising. We have not done so in the past twelve months.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run our business, each under terms that restrict use of your data to providing their service to us: Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Resend (delivers contact-form messages to our inbox), Beehiiv (newsletter), Google Workspace (email, calendar, and file storage), the scheduling tool we use when you book a call, our accounting and payment providers, and Anthropic, whose Claude models we use under enterprise terms that exclude our inputs from model training. Client information shared with Anthropic is limited to what an engagement requires and is described in the engagement agreement.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our firm, our clients, or others, or as part of a sale, merger, or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

We are based in the United States, and our providers are U.S. companies that store our records in the United States. If you visit or contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Retention

We keep contact and newsletter information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Website logs and analytics are retained by Vercel for a limited period under its own retention schedule. Client engagement records are kept for the period set in our Data Handling, Retention, and Disposal Policy: working files for the engagement, final deliverables and core correspondence for three years, and contracts and financial records for seven years. We delete or anonymize information we no longer need.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any edition. You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, or to stop using it for a particular purpose, by emailing hello@aifortherestofus.co. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we respond within thirty days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

If you are in California, the rights above include the rights to know, to delete, and to correct under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and you may designate an authorized agent to make a request for you. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

We protect information with the safeguards described in our Information Security Plan: encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication on every system, least-privilege access, and vendors that hold current SOC 2 Type II attestations. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident involving your information, we will notify you as applicable law requires and, for our clients, within the time our engagement agreement or applicable regulation sets, and in no case later than 72 hours after we become aware of it.

Children

Our website and services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes affecting clients are also communicated directly.
